Composting


The Village of Akron has developed its own municipal Composting Facility at 12707 Clarence Center Road, Akron, NY, 14001. It is available for use by all residents, businesses and industry.

Users may bring their yard waste and brush (no trash) to the Compost Facility which is open weather permitting, on Saturdays, from 9:00 AM until Noon. It is staffed on Saturdays from April through November.

Wood chips and compost is available at the Compost Facility for Village residents to take for their own use at no cost. Residents must bring their own supplies and load their own vehicles.
