BURKE AND KENNEDY DENOUNCE NAZI RALLY IN SOUTH BUFFALO

ERIE COUNTY, NY- It has been circulating via social media that a “White Lives Matter” rally will be held this upcoming weekend in South Buffalo's Cazenovia Park. This information originated from a National Socialist Movement/NAZI/White Lives Matter group based in Detroit, Michigan.

“This ‘rally’ is being organized by a group of neo-Nazi radicals. Not only is this completely unacceptable, and morally reprehensible, I personally resent that these people believe they have found a base in this community where I live with my wife, who is of Puerto Rican descent, and our three children” said Erie County Legislator Patrick Burke (District 7). “A rally like this does not represent the values of my community.”

“If this event is in fact truly scheduled to be carried out this weekend at Cazenovia Park, its organizers should be ashamed of themselves and any message they intend to deliver," said Senator Tim Kennedy. "Buffalo is branded the City of Good Neighbors for a reason: we celebrate the diversity, inclusion and acceptance of all residents, and we strive to celebrate our differences rather than wedge feelings of hate between city lines and cultures within. The City I'm raising my children in does not support this intolerance, and now more than ever we need to rise above this bigotry as one."

South Buffalo is a community that celebrates its Irish heritage while also recognizing the diversity of people and residents that have contributed to our neighborhood for generations. We reject the hateful rhetoric represented by these organizations.
