Erie County Legislators Ed Rath and Joe Lorigo visited Gates Vascular Institute to present a proclamation in honor of American Heart Month and recognize their leadership in the fight against cardiovascular disease.
Recently, the legislature passed a resolution observing February as American Heart Month in Erie County.
“It was my pleasure to recognize Gates Vascular Institute on behalf of the legislature and residents of Erie County,” said Legislator Lorigo. “I was so impressed with their team of caring, knowledgeable doctors who dedicate themselves to improving the health of our community.”
Before presenting the proclamation, Legislators Rath and Lorigo received a tour of the procedure rooms.
“Millions of Americans are impacted by heart disease and it is comforting to know we have access to such great care right here in Buffalo,” said Legislator Rath. I’d like to thank the staff for welcoming us and providing us with an inside look at the cutting-edge technology they use to save lives.”
Since opening in 2012, Gates Vascular Institute has become a destination for patients needing stroke, cardiac and vascular care. The facility offers services unavailable anywhere else in the region and some of the most innovative medicine in the country.
