At a special session held Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, the Erie County Legislature approved the CSEA Local 815 contract for approximately 2,600 members with a vote of 11-0.
“With today’s Legislature approval, the contract is finalized. I am pleased that a deal has been reached, however the current contract only covers through 2016 and both sides will be back to the table soon. Anytime the county negotiates a contract, it is critical that the taxpayers are put first. After many years and attempts to settle the CSEA contract we finally have an agreement in place and going forward I would hope the process is much more efficient,” said Chairman John Mills.
The previous contract expired in 2006. The approved contract covers the years 2008-2016 and includes cost-saving modifications to health insurance coverage.
