During last Thursday’s Nov. 1, 208 session, the Erie County Legislature approved a new contract for Teamsters Local Union No. 264, which is made up of captains and lieutenants who supervise the Erie County Holding Center.
The new agreement will give members a one job group bump, 4% salary increase in 2019, 3% annual wage increase in 2020 and 2021, 2% increases in 2022 and 2023, and retroactive pay for 2017 and 2018 of 2%. In return, the members increased their health insurance contribution to 15 percent and eliminated their uniform allowance as well as two paid holidays. The county will fund the net local share cost through a one-time appropriation of fund balance, which is capped at $150,000.
“The ten supervisors who oversee the holding center have a difficult job that comes with great responsibility,” said Legislator Lynne Dixon. “We are happy to reach an agreement with them in support of their hard work.”
