Mills reappointed to Minority Leader post

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills was reappointed to the post of Minority Leader during the Jan. 8, 2013 Legislative reorganizational meeting. His appointed was confirmed by unanimous vote from the Minority Caucus, Legislators Edward Rath, Kevin Hardwick, Lynne Dixon and Joseph Lorigo.

“I want to thank my colleagues for their support. I know that this year is going to bring many challenges for Erie County and as Minority Leader I am committed to working with County Executive Poloncarz, Chairwoman Grant and the Majority Caucus to ensure we are mindful of taxpayers in every decision we make,” said Legislator Mills, who has served as Minority Leader since 2007.

Legislator Mills said the Legislature’s agenda will include several major issues, including the proposed Buffalo Bills lease, union contract matters, infrastructure repairs, and monitoring the 2013 budget while continuously laying the groundwork for future years.

“I am pleased that John Mills is once again minority leader in the Erie County Legislature. He is fair-minded, knowledgeable, and cares deeply about the community. Legislator Mills has always been the perfect gentleman, a legislator dedicated to finding solutions and working in a bi-partisan manner,” said Legislator Lynne Dixon.

The Legislature will hold its next session at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in Legislative Chambers, 92 Franklin St., Buffalo. For additional information, please visit www.erie.gov/legislature
