Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon invited 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal Ryan Johnson to the Legislature Thursday afternoon to present him with a proclamation congratulating him on receiving the honor.

Ryan Johnson is the third generation of his family to serve as Grand Marshal. He is a graduate of Canisius High School and remains involved with the United Irish American Association (UIAA) since his father first volunteered him to work along the parade route when he was in high school.

“I always look forward to inviting the parade Grand Marshal to the Legislature each year,” said Legislator Dixon. “Ryan comes from a long line of outstanding family members who have also shared the honor of leading the parade. It was great to be joined by his friends and family as we congratulated him Thursday afternoon. I look forward to seeing him carry on the tradition by leading the way down Delaware Avenue Sunday!”

Ryan will be joined by his wife Kristen and other family members Garry, Cindy, Jillian, and Sean as Deputy Marshals during the parade. The parade begins 2pm Sunday, March 17th and will proceed down Delaware Avenue in the City of Buffalo.
