Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently celebrated Mom and Pop Business Owners Day by honoring Papa’s Popcorn—a veteran, family-owned and operated popcorn stand in Clarence Center.

Mom and Pop Business Owners day is celebrated on March 29th in Erie County. The day is used as an opportunity to celebrate the family-owned businesses that make American communities diverse and vibrant.

Owners Mike and Robin Sendlbeck sell several different flavors of popcorn at their homemade stand on Goodrich Road. Mike Sendlbeck is a Marine Corps veteran and former landscaper and after two years of retirement—he decided to go into the popcorn business full-time with his wife.

Legislator Greene said, “Mike and Robin Sendlbeck took a hobby and turned it into a full-time job. Papa’s Popcorn is a staple in Clarence Center that attracts customers from all over Erie County. I want to send a big shout-out to the Sendlbeck’s for providing the perfect bag of popcorn for everyone who visits, and also for serving our country! You two are the definition of a hero!”
