Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently helped cut the ribbon—along with owner Thomas Northem, Jr. and members of the Akron Chamber of Commerce—on Backlot Entertainment Venue, a new family-owned and operated business and home to the WNY Country Music Festival in Akron, N.Y.

Located at Braun’s Concert Grove, the venue can accommodate up to 3,000 guests and has welcomed national and local recording artists including Eric Van Houten, ZBTB, West of the Mark, Jillian Eliza, 90 West, Kevin Mikula, Kenzie Wheeler from NBC’s “The Voice” and more as part of WNY’s largest three-day country music festival which took place last weekend.

Legislator Greene also presented Owner Thomas Northem, Jr. with a proclamation to honor him for his continued commitment to making Backlot Entertainment Venue an entertainment destination for Erie County and Western New York.

Legislator Greene said, “I want to welcome Backlot Entertainment Venue to Akron and wish owner Thomas Northem, Jr. nothing but continued success! It is so wonderful to see young business owners choosing to stay and grow their business right here in Erie County! I look forward to attending many music festivals at Backlot Entertainment Venue in years to come.”
