Erie County Legislator John Mills has been appointed to the Region 9 New York State Fish and Wildlife Management Board.

The main goals of the board are to encourage the preservation and development of fish and wildlife resources on privately-owned lands and waters and to improve public recreational access to fish and wildlife resources on privately-owned lands and waters.

Legislator Mills said, “I am honored to begin serving on the fish and wildlife management board after being appointed by County Executive Mark Poloncarz. Maintaining our fishing waters and encouraging people of all ages to enjoy our outdoor resources is something I have always been passionate about. I look forward to providing insights and working with the other board members to promote fishing opportunities and wildlife resources throughout our region.”
