LEGISLATOR MILLS HONORS LOCAL BUSINESS GERNATT ASPHALT PRODUCTS FOR BEING A LONGTIME WNY BUSINESS AND GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Erie County Legislator John Mills recently honored local business Gernatt Asphalt Products for being the largest sand and gravel producer in New York State and for its continued dedication to the community. The company was established in 1946 by Dan Gernatt, Sr.

Legislator Mills presented a proclamation to the owner of Gernatt Asphalt Products, Dan Gernatt, Jr. to thank him for his dedication to the Western New York Community and for his generous donation of $5,000 to the Depew Community Action Team to help fund the building of their new community center.

Gernatt Asphalt Products produces sand and gravel products in its Chaffee, Freedom, Gowanda, Great Valley, Hanover, South Dayton and Springville plants. The company produces and supplies asphalt in from their plants in Collins, Springville, Delevan, West Seneca and Westfield.

Gernatt Asphalt Products offers all types of gravel, stone, sand, asphalt, building materials and top soil. The business also provides essential materials for many major projects like the New York State Thruway, KeyBank Center, Sahlen’s Field and more.

Legislator Mills said, “Gernatt Asphalt Products is a staple in the Western New York community. Dan. puts his heart and soul into everything he does for his business and he also goes above and beyond for the community. His generous donation to the Depew Community Action Team will help the youth in the area for generations to come!”

Depew Community Action Team President Deborah Turley said, “The donation of $5,000 from Gernatt Asphalt Products to the Depew Community Action Team is a profound example of the power of generosity and its transformative power in community. The future Depew Community Center will be a place of empowerment, engagement and hope for the residents of Depew and this gift moves us one step closer to realizing this long-held vision for our Village and its residents.”
