Erie County Legislator Ed Rath joined Russell Salvatore and Clarence Supervisor Patrick Casilio for a parade throughout the Brothers of Mercy Campus to lift the spirits of employees and residents at the facility Tuesday morning. 

During the parade, Brothers of Mercy resident Naomi Slusser received a special 101^st birthday surprise when local singer and Frank Sinatra performer Michael Nugent serenaded her outside her window with the help of the Clarence Fire Department. Legislator Rath also provided a proclamation to Naomi wishing her a happy birthday on behalf of the Erie County Legislature.

Legislator Rath said, “It was an honor to be part of the lifting spirts parade for our healthcare heroes and the residents at Brothers of Mercy. During these difficult times, it is important to continue spreading positivity while letting our frontline workers know how much we appreciate them. I would also like to thank Russell Salvatore, Brothers of Mercy Staff, Michael Nugent, the Clarence Fire Department, and members of the community for making this celebration possible. I hope Naomi had a wonderful birthday and enjoyed the special performance outside her window!”
