On September 11, Erie County Legislator Ed Rath joined Akron resident Hillery Dennies as she put on full firefighting gear and climbed the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

Dennies made the climb at Jada Blitz Fitness in Williamsville and did it in an effort to raise money for the FealGood Foundation Outreach and Education Program, an organization providing education and awareness to the public regarding catastrophic health issues affecting 9/11 first responders. Legislator Rath met Hillery to present a proclamation thanking her for her efforts.

Legislator Rath said, “It was an honor to meet Hillery and recognize her for her involvement in this important awareness campaign.  As a volunteer firefighter herself, Hillery has done an outstanding job to serve and protect our community. Her stair climb was an incredible way to pay tribute to those who tragically lost their lives on 9/11 and raise awareness surrounding the health issues impacting surviving first responders.”
