Following Governor Cuomo’s announcement that bars and restaurants can only serve alcohol with the sale of food items, Erie County Legislator Ed Rath voted in favor of a resolution opposing the new guidelines.

Legislator Rath said, “I will always stand in support of small businesses, especially bars and restaurants that continue to suffer from the Governor’s overreach. The lack of accountability and transparency from the Governor’s office is troubling. Many of these establishments are following the guidelines and doing everything they can to stay afloat. We are sending a message to Governor Cuomo that our local bars and restaurants deserve better, and the constant arbitrary executive orders must stop.”

The resolution passed during the most recent session of the Erie County Legislature Thursday, July 23.
