Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro joined Village of Depew Mayor Kevin Peterson, members of the Village of Depew Fire Department, and other members of the community for a parade to wish World War II veteran Edward Kaczmarek a happy 100^th birthday.

Edward Kaczmarek is an Army Air Corps veteran who was a radioman and machine gun operator during World War II. While serving in Europe, Kaczmarek participated in over 51 bombing missions. He was joined by friends and family during a special birthday parade outside his Depew home Tuesday night.

Legislator Todaro said, “What a wonderful turnout we had to honor one of our community’s heroes on such a special occasion. I am honored I could meet Mr. Kaczmarek and thank him for his incredible service and sacrifice. I thank his family and Mayor Peterson for pulling this special event together. I hope Ed had a fantastic birthday!”

After the parade, Legislator Todaro presented Kaczmarek with a certificate wishing him a happy birthday on behalf of the Erie County Legislature.
