Recently, Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro sponsored a resolution to celebrate National Police Week in Erie County.

National Police Week is celebrated annually to recognize the brave men and women who put the safety of others above their own to serve and protect their communities. Policemen are the first line of defense when there is an emergency. In addition to recognizing their hard work and bravery, National Police Week also raises awareness of the problems, duties and responsibilities of local police departments.

Legislator Todaro said, “Police officers are vital members of society—the world wouldn’t go ‘round if it weren’t for their valiant effort and continued dedication for others. Police work is an honorable and tough career and they do not get the credit they deserve. From my family to you— we see you, we thank you and we respect you.”
