Last week, Erie County Legislators Joe Lorigo, Lynne Dixon, and John Mills joined Clerk Mickey Kearns for the grand opening of the new Southtowns Auto Bureau.

The new location is in the Southgate Plaza in West Seneca and will be open from 9am-4:45pm Monday through Friday. Added parking, ADA complaint chairs for 100 customers, public restrooms, and 15 customer service windows are some of the new features.

Legislator Mills said, “This is one example of how Clerk Kearns has made great use of funding my colleagues in the Legislature and I have approved. I am impressed with the new facility and the improved resources it offers. I look forward to serving additional customers through opening the Southtowns location and will continue to support expanding DMV services for the benefit of our community.”

Legislator Lorigo said, ““At the Legislature, I’ve been proud to support additional funding to help expand DMV services and open auto bureaus in different areas across Erie County. Clerk Kearns has done a great job to improve the overall experience of going to the DMV and expedite the process of transactions.  I am confident the new Southtowns location will greatly benefit the residents of my legislative district.”

Legislator Dixon said, “The new Southtowns DMV location is going to be a great asset to the community I represent. I am impressed by the expanded facility and its upgrades. I thank Clerk Kearns for prioritizing the needs of Erie County residents and making DMV locations more accessible. At the Legislature, I am happy to support funding to improve these services and make a trip to the DMV an easier experience.”

As a result of the new location’s opening, The Erie County Auto Bureau at SUNY Erie South Campus and West Seneca Public Library are officially closed. Customers are also encouraged to make a reservation online before visiting. You can do so by visiting www.erie.gov/clerk/reservations.
