Erie County Legislators Ed Rath, Frank Todaro, and John Mills were the primary co-sponsors of a resolution requesting the advisory board tasked with providing guidance for reopening New York State regularly report their findings to the Legislature. The resolution passed unanimously during last Thursday’s session.

Those on the board, including eight from Western New York, have been tasked with guiding the re-opening process for the New York State economy.

Legislator Rath said, “It’s important these deliberations are conducted in a transparent manner. Our resolution notes the importance of getting our economy back on track and making sure local municipalities are kept in the loop. I am proud to receive the unanimous support of the Legislature regarding this request. I look forward to hearing more from the New York Forward Re-opening Advisory Board and hope we can safely re-open in the coming weeks.”

Legislator Mills said, “Local governments should be made aware of all discussion and decisions relevant to re-opening our economy. Sharing these deliberations will help gather valuable input and increase transparency. I am hoping to re-open in the coming weeks and begin working to get our economy on the right track.”

Legislator Todaro said, “It is important for the re-open advisory board to communicate with all local governments. This will keep everyone on the same page and allow for a wider collection of input. I look forward to learning more about the plans to safely re-open the economy and hope we can begin that process soon.”
