Snow Plowing

During the winter months, the Highway Department is under contract with Erie County for 50 miles of county roads in the Town of Clarence for snow and ice removal.  We also maintain 120 miles of Town Roads.

*  The Highway Department patrols the roads 24-7 days a week.  There is no need to call the office.  Roads can generally be cleared within 4-6 hours after the conclusion of a snow event.

*  It is illegal to plow snow across a highway or deposit snow in the street.  DO NOT plow, shovel or snowblow snow onto the road.

*  We do not hit mailboxes on purpose.  Most of the damage is done from the snow coming off of the plow.  Please call our office at 741-3210 between 8am and 4pm to report a damaged mailbox.  We will send someone out the next business day.

No parking on any Town or County streets from November 1st thru April 30 during the hours from 1:00 am to 7:00 am

Violators will be subject to a parking tag.
Repeated violations will result in vehicle being towed at the owners expense.
If an emergency exists and your vehicle cannot be removed from the street, call 741-3210 or 741-8918 to report this.
