Erie County Clerk to Implement Mandatory e-Filing of Civil Matters

Pursuant to Administrative Order of NYS Chief Administrative Judge 

Erie County, NY – Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs announces that his office, under Chapter 184 of the laws of 2012, which authorizes mandatory e-filing in Erie County Supreme Court, will begin conversion from consensual to mandatory e-filing of court matters.

New York’s Chief Administrative Judge, A. Gail Prudenti, has issued an administrative order designating case types and effective dates for this mandatory program. The case types will include commercial and residential foreclosures, commercial actions, contract and tort actions, medical malpractice actions, asbestos matters and tax certiorari proceedings. The program is being implemented in stages; mortgage foreclosure actions will be accepted via NYSCEF beginning April 15, 2013.
