Clerk’s Office to take part in National Event

Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs is pleased to announce that the County Clerk’s Office will join Passport Acceptance Facilities and Regional Passport Agencies across the United States to celebrate “Passport Day in the USA”.  The event will be held at the Northtown Auto Bureau, located in the Northtown Plaza at 3095 Sheridan Drive in Amherst on Saturday, March 9th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Passport Acceptance Agents from the Clerk’s Office will be available to accept and process passport applications during this special “Passports on the Move” outreach as well as provide passport information to U.S. citizens. 

“I encourage anyone planning their spring or summer vacation or college students planning a semester abroad, to come to our Passport Outreach and apply for their passport,” said County Clerk Jacobs.  

Applicants will be able to apply for a passport card, passport book or both. For an additional fee, the County Clerk’s Office offers an expedited service which reduces the processing time down to 3 days. Payment must be in the form of check or money order. No cash or credit cards will be accepted.    

“It can be difficult for people to take off work and come downtown, so we wanted to take this opportunity to better serve our constituents,” stated County Clerk Jacobs. “My office is pleased to take part in this national event and offer this service to the community.” 

Applicants will need to bring with them an original or certified copy of their birth certificate, proof of identity such as a current New York State driver’s license or non-driver I.D.,  and one 2x2 photo. The Clerk’s Office can also take a passport photo on-site for a $10 fee.
