Erie County, NY
– Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs, in coordination with UB’s Student Life Services, will bring the Auto Bureau’s Mobile Unit to the University at Buffalo North Campus. The outreach event will be held on Friday, October 19thfrom 10 a.m.-4 p.m. so to coincide with UB’s Family Weekend. The Mobile DMV Office will be located in the Student Union-Room 220.
“At any given time there are thousands of auto bureau customers on campus,” said Clerk Jacobs. “This is a great opportunity for us to provide a convenient service, while also capturing new revenue for the auto bureau.” Students and University staff will be able to take advantage of this first-ever “on campus” event to obtain valid NYS drivers licenses, Enhanced Licenses, auto registrations, non-driver identifications, and convert out-of-state driver licenses to New York. Anyone interested may also purchase an E-ZPass tag.
Both County Clerk Jacobs and the University are looking to make the Auto Bureau Mobile Unit available each semester throughout the school year. Jacobs stated, “The event is also a chance for the Auto Bureau to assist and educate students new to New York, as well as the United States, on the “rules of the road” regarding seatbelt requirements, DWI laws, cell phone and texting laws and to issue NYS Driver’s Manuals.”
