Erie County, NY - Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs announces that Kohler Awning, located in Cheektowaga, has joined the “Thank-A-Vet” Discount Program. Over the last two years, Jacobs has reached out to local businesses asking them to offer a discount or benefit to veterans who present the Clerk’s discount card.
“To date, we’ve grown the program to over 750 participating businesses,” said County Clerk Jacobs. “We hear from so many veterans how excited they are to see Kohler Awning on our list of businesses and are grateful that Kohler provides such a generous discount,” he added.
“Kohler Awning is very honored to be part of the Clerk’s ‘Thank-A-Vet’ Program and to help our local veteran community in this way, providing a product that will enhance their homes and lifestyle,” said Owner Marty Kohler.
The Kohler Family has long been affiliated with the military. John M. Kohler Jr., Marty’s father, was a First Lieutenant and Pilot in the 8th US Air Force 44th Bombardment Group. In 1944, Lieutenant Kohler flew a B-24 in 33 missions over Germany from May to September. He was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Metal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and also awarded a Certificate of Valor.
Kohler Awning proudly displays Lieutenant Kohler’s uniform, medals, photos and other military mementos in the showroom. Kohler Awning has been locally owned and operated since 1925 and offers a 15% discount to veterans presenting the Clerk’s “Thank-A-Vet” card. Learn more about Kohler Awning at www.kohlerawning.com.
