Valentines for Veterans

Thursday, February 2, 2012

“The Valentines for Veterans Program is a terrific program that I am honored to be a part of. It is just another opportunity to pay tribute and express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the our Veterans. I applaud the students of Hillery Elementary School for participating in this program with Legislator Lynne Dixon, in the effort to let our Veterans know they are appreciated on Valentine’s Day and every day,” said County Clerk Chris Jacobs.

The Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs also promotes his own Veteran’s Program called “THANK A VET”. County Clerk Jacobs explained, “This complementary program is a way to recognize the veterans in our community for their service and sacrifice. Eligible veterans will receive a photo I.D. card which identifies them as an honorably discharged veteran. The veteran can then use this I.D. card at participating merchants who have agreed to honor the card by providing the holders with a discount on purchases or services. “

For further information on the “THANK A VET” Discount Program, you can contact the Erie County Clerk’s Office at 716-858-8865 or visit http://www2.erie.gov/clerk and click on the “THANK A VET” tab.
