COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW COMPLETES REPORT ON NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVING A DRIVER’S LICENSE

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. released his report that outlines the negative consequences that will be caused by granting illegal aliens the right to obtain a valid New York State driver’s license. At the request of County Clerk Michael P. Kearns, Comptroller Mychajliw investigated the issue and found numerous negative consequences to law abiding taxpayers and law enforcement.  

CLERK CALLS ON COMPTROLLER TO INVESTIGATE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF ILLEGAL ALIENS OBTAINING DRIVER’S LICENSES

In a bipartisan effort, Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. (R-Hamburg) and Clerk Michael P. Kearns (D-Buffalo) announced the launch of an investigation into the negative consequences associated with granting illegal aliens the right to obtain a driver’s license in the State of New York. In a letter to Comptroller Mychajliw, Clerk Kearns requests the Comptroller’s Office release a report that outlines possible adverse effects if state leaders approve legislation granting that right. 

COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW EARNS HUNDRENDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR TAXPAYERS VIA ONLINE PAYMENT PROGRAM REBATE

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. recently met with M&T Bank officials to review the progress of the county’s online vendor payment system. This reform initiative was implemented in 2015 as part of an overhaul of Erie County’s banking relationship. Since implementation, taxpayers have received approximately $870,659 back in the form of a rebate. This is new revenue for the county that doesn’t negatively impact the property taxpayer and helps the county’s bottom line.

Erie County Comptroller Stefan Iwan Mychajliw is the son of Polish and Ukrainian immigrants, the youngest of seven children, who grew up in blue-collar beginnings near the corner of William and Fillmore on the East Side of Buffalo.

The people of Erie County first elected Mychajliw Erie County Comptroller on November 6th, 2012. Husband to Ashley, a social worker, and proud father of Mia Theresa Mychajliw, a student at Cleve Hill.
