STATEMENT FROM COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW ON VICTORIOUS COURT DECISION
“This decision vindicates the role of the Comptroller’s Office as the watchdog of taxpayer dollars. I have a responsibility to protect taxpayers that I will never, ever shy away from. No matter who challenges the authority of my office, I will continue to honor the commitment I made to taxpayers when I took the oath of office to protect them.
Taxpayers are my priority. It is their hard earned money I was hired to keep track of and protect from abuse. This is a lesson anyone that takes county money must understand. No organization or person is too big or too powerful to be held accountable. If you do wrong with taxpayer money, I will find it and report on it.”
-Hon. Stefan I. Mychajliw Erie County ComptrollerFROM THE DECISION:
“Accordingly, this Court finds that there is no final determination which caused concrete injury to BUL (Buffalo Urban League)… Accordingly the petition is dismissed.”
