The National Association of School Resource Officers is offering this 24 hour course is designed for any law enforcement officer working in an educational environment. The course, follwing the SRO Triad model, advances teh SRO's knowledge and skills as a law enforcement officer, informal counselor, and educator. Within this course are oral presentations, videotaped practical exercises, and multiple discussions. Topics include:
- Leadership
- Working Effectively with the School Community
- Interviewing Skills for SROs
- General Legal Updates
- Technology
- Threat Assessment
- CPTED
- Incident Command
This course will also provide additional skills and programs for the experienced School Resource Officer to identify and diffuse potentially dangerous situations on campus.
