Thursday, June 20, 2019

Erie County Central Police Services Commissioner, James Jancewicz, Deputy Director of Law Enforcement Communications, Lisa Sears, and Cheektowaga Police Department would like to invite you to send your dispatch team to a Domestic Violence Intervention for Dispatchers course on one of these dates: Tuesday, June 18, 2019 or Thursday, June 20, 2019.

This one-day course will be hosted at Cheektowaga Police Department, 3223 Union Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14227 from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a one hour break for lunch (on your own).

DispatchU is providing the trainer.  Our telecommunicators will learn how to protect responders to the scene and spot red flags from callers.  Some of the topics covered are stalking, abusive relationships, essentials of courtroom testimony, and cultural/religious differences.  The class will provide our telecommunicators with new tactics for handling these often volitile and complex incidents.

There is limited seating, so please send an email with your attendees name, position, and email address to lisa.sears@erie.gov  as soon as possible.

Thank you to Chief David Zach and Lieutenant Christine Newman for opening their center to us.

Sincerely,

Lisa Sears
