DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Clinic

The Erie County Central Police Services Training Academy is pleased to announce a clinic on the administration of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST).  The clinic will allow officers to practice and renew their knowledge of the standards of SFST as well as hear tips and experienced instruction on the factors affecting results.  Registrants will also hear advice on collection of evidence, a review of the chemical test refusal process, and a refresher on court presentation of SFST evidence.

Class room work will be part of the clinic but SFST field practice will be emphasized.

Mandatory Prerequisites for attending this training are listed below:

  • Previous successful completion of the 21 hour DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course
This class is limited to 20 officers.  Based on registration, this class may be offered on two additional dates as needed.

This course is recommended for all sworn officers.
 
Please Note:
 
  • Agencies may be limited in enrollment to allow equal opportunity to the course.
  • There is no cost for Erie County Police Agencies.  Other agencies should call to see if a fee applies.
  • Out of county offices must provide a certificate of residency form.
Please Observe the Academy Dress Code:
 
Uniform or shirt and tie for men, proper business attire for women; blue jeans are NOT acceptable
