DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Instructor Course

The NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce the availability of a DWI Detection and Standarized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) Instructor Refresher Course. This National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) program is designed to update law enforcement officers who are currently certified as instructors in DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing using proper procedures and protocols requisite within the NHTSA DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing program. All officers currently certified as DWI Dectection and SFST Instructors are strongly encouraged to attend. This course will consist of classroom presentation and practical exercises.  DVDs containing the 2015 editions of the DWI Detection and SFST courses (three day and refresher) materials will be distributed.

Manditory Pre-requisites:

  • Previous successful completion of the DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Instructor Course

Although we have planned for a large enrollment, seats are limited.  Therefore, you must recieve confirmation on attendance.  Please complete the course application at the bottom of this page under "ADDITIONAL INFO". Please submit the course application no later than one week before the start of the course.
