Large Truck and Bus Traffic Enforcement Training

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Office of Public Safety in conjunction with the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (ADLEST) are pleased to announce a half day "Train the Trainer" course on Large Truck and Bus Traffic Enforcement" designed for local law enforcement agencies.

In partnership with the Federal Motor Carrider Safety Administration and IADLEST, DCJS is proud to facilitate instructions workshops for a new FMCSA commercial vehicle safety initiative entitled, Large Truck and Bus Enforcement Training (T&BET). This four-hour block of instruction re-establishes the importance of having municipal and other local law enforcment officers actively engaged in enforcing moving and equipment violations associated with large trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles.

The training will provide techniques of safe, effective commercial vehicle stops, teach officers to detect and deter serious crimes and reduce serious traffic violations.  Each participant will recieve a "train-the-Trainer" package that includes: an instructional lesson plan, videos, slides and guidelines for the consistent delivery of this IADLEST National Certified Program.  There is no cost to attend this training.

Enrollment for each training location is limited.  Therefore, you must recieve confirmation of attendance.
