Teen Indicted for Killing Two and Injuring Another in Shooting Inside Town of Tonawanda Apartment

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 18-year-old Jamire M. Woods, also known as “Jaja,” of Buffalo was arraigned yesterday morning before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes on an indictment charging him with the following offenses:

  • Two counts of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felonies)
  • One count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (Class “B” violent felony)
  • One count of Assault in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony)
  • One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony)

It is alleged that on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the defendant, with the intent to cause the deaths of the victims, fired multiple shots with an illegal gun. The crime occurred inside of an apartment on the 700 block of Parker Boulevard in the Town of Tonawanda. Three people were hit by gunfire. Two of the victims, Antoyn Williams, 51, of Buffalo and Kristina Perez, 36, of Hinsdale, were pronounced dead at the scene. The third victim, a 56-year-old male, was taken to ECMC, where he remains hospitalized with injuries.  

Woods is scheduled to return on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. He continues to remain held without bail.  

If convicted of all charges, Woods faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison.  

DA Flynn commends the Town of Tonawanda Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the Homicide Unit.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
