Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 35 year old Kory L. Shaunessy of 86 Wehrle Drive, Cheektowaga, pleaded guilty before County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk to Vehicular Assault in the First Degree and Driving While Intoxicated.  These are the highest charges for which Shaunessy could have been convicted had she gone to trial. 

Shaunessy admitted that on May 11, 2012 on S. Union and Wehrle Drive, while driving intoxicated, she ran a red light and struck the passenger side of a vehicle causing serious physical injury to his 23 year old Travis Wass of Orchard Park.  As alleged in the Special Information, Shaunessy has a 2003 conviction for Driving While Intoxicated. 

Shaunessy faces a maximum prison sentence of 2-1/3 - 7 years in prison when she is sentenced before the Hon. Thomas Franczyk on January 11, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
