Danielle D'AbateIt is of great importance to the District Attorney that the office foster and maintain a positive relationship with the communities it serves. Assistant District Attorney Danielle D’Abate of the Training/Special Projects Bureau serves as the liaison between the DA’s Office and the residents of Erie County. The ADA is responsible for attending Board of Block Clubs meetings and other community engagement forums to gather information on constituent concerns. Also, the ADA is responsible for coordinating volunteer opportunities, including organizing school supply drives, serving hot meals to those in-need during the holidays, and participating in beautification projects at municipal housing complexes, etc.

DA Flynn has created the Police Liaison Program wherein an ADA is assigned to each police department in Erie County. The primary purpose of this program is to provide general legal assistance and training to each department. Additionally, the assigned ADA participates in community outreach efforts in their jurisdiction.

In February 2018, the District Attorney created a similar program for schools. Through the ECDA School Critical Incident Initiative, an Assistant District Attorney has been assigned to each public school district in Erie County to ensure a fast, comprehensive investigative response to any circumstance that presents a threat of harms to students, staff or school property.
