East Aurora Man Charged in the Hamburg Toys-R-Us Murder

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 38 year-old Bernard T. Grucza of 31 Kettle Run Road, East Aurora, has been indicted by an Erie County Grand Jury with Murder in the Second Degree.  

It is alleged that on June 29, 2013, at the Toys-R-Us located at 3464 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, Grucza murdered 35 year old Laurence C. Wells, II of 72 Arthur Avenue, Blasdell, by stabbing him.  Grucza will be arraigned on November 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. before Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang. 

If convicted of these crimes Grucza faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years to life.  Grucza is legally presumed to be innocent until his guilt is proven in a court of law.
