Hamburg woman charged with Aggravated DWI by drugs and Endangering the Welfare of a Child for incident in Orchard Park

ERIE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY FRANK A. SEDITA, III ANNOUNCES THE FOLOWING LEANDRA’S LAW CASE: ELLEN M. ADAMS, AGE 48 OF 3716 HORTON AVENUE, HAMBURG, NEW YORK, WILL BE ARRAIGNED AT 9:30 THIS MORNING BEFORE SUPREME COURT JUSTICE PENNY M. WOLFGANG ON AN INDICTMENT CHARGING HER WITH AGGRAVATED DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED BY A DRUG WITH A CHILD IN THE CAR AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD. IT IS ALLEGED THAT ON AUGUST 20, 2011, ON CALIFORNIA ROAD AND SOUTHWESTERN BOULEVARD IN THE TOWN OF ORCHARD PARK, ADAMS DROVE HER VEHICLE OFF THE ROADWAY, THEN STRUCK A MAILBOX BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. IT IS FURTHER ALLEGED THAT SHE WAS DRIVING WHILE IMPAIRED BY HYDROCODONE WHILE HER 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN HER VEHICLE. IF CONVICTED OF THESE CRIMES ADAMS FACES A MAXIMUM PRISON SENTENCE OF 4 YEARS.
