Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 26 year old Kevin Davis, II of 38 Gesl, Buffalo, was sentenced this afternoon before County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to 25 years to life in prison.

On April 12, 2012 Davis was convicted after a jury trial of Murder in the Second Degree, as charged, in connection with the September 30, 2010 fatal shooting of 15 year old Dominque Maye as she sat at the computer inside her Hewitt Avenue home.  The defendant, a member of the Gangster Disciples street gang, fired 19 shots at the house from an AK-47 rifle, motivated by an apparent dispute with Ms. Maye’s brother, Cardicus Maye.  Judge Pietruszka imposed the maximum sentence allowed by law.
