Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns sentenced 26 year old Jorge DeJesus a/k/a Juan Reyes to 6 years in state prison.

On September 12, 2010 DeJesus was arrested at his home at 302 Parkdale, Buffalo after police received a call that that someone had a gun in the neighborhood.   On May 20, 2011, DeJesus was convicted after a non-jury trial before Justice Burns of two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.  At that time, the District Attorney’s Office recommended that DeJesus be remanded into custody, but he was released on bail pending sentencing.  DeJesus failed to appear for sentencing and a warrant was issued.

On September 23, 2011 DeJesus was arrested and charged in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with felony drug charges and is serving a sentence of 1-1/2 to 3 years in Pennsylvania for that conviction.  He was transported back to Buffalo for sentencing.
