Amherst Man Pleads Guilty to Felony Sexual Abuse Charge on Day Trial is Set to Begin

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 42-year-old Ibrahim Amin of Amherst pleaded guilty to one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class “D” violent felony.

On May 16, 2015, the defendant subjected the victim to sexual contact by forcible compulsion without her consent in the Town of Amherst.

Amin faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when he is sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Haendiges on July 11 at 11a.m. The defendant remains remanded without bail.

DA Flynn commends Buffalo Police Detective Mark Costantino and Amherst Police Officers Daniel Buscher and Novica Vokuvic for their work on this case.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Rosanne E. Johnson and Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
