Buffalo Man Admits to Sexual Conduct with Child Victim

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 29-year-old Leon Chatmon of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class “B” violent felony.

The defendant admitted that starting in late 2018 and into early 2019, he engaged in sexual conduct with a juvenile female victim over the course of more than three months at a location in the City of Buffalo.

Chatmon faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. He remains remanded without bail.

DA Flynn commends Detectives Jennifer Vaccaro and Vatasha Tibbs-Watkins of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meghan E. Leydecker of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
