Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 49-year-old John Jaycox of Buffalo has been arraigned by Buffalo City Court Judge Debra Givens on the charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Burglary in the Third Degree.

On March 15, 2018, at approximately 2 p.m., the defendant entered the store Choco-Logo on Broadway in the City of Buffalo. Once inside, Jaycox is accused of attacking a 60-year-old employee. 

Jaycox is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, March 21 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He has been remanded without bail.

Assistant District Attorney Nathanael C. Kapperman of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
