Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 44-year-old D’Andre Turner of Buffalo has been arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Debra Givens on charges of Criminally Negligent Homicide and Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs. 

It is alleged that on June 19, 2016 near 305 Moselle St. at 9:40 p.m., the defendant was driving under the influence of marijuana when his car crossed the road and struck three pedestrians.  Two women were injured and the third, 7-month-old Nyree Greene was killed. 

The defendant pleaded not guilty and bail was set at $25,000.  The case now goes to a Grand Jury. 

Acting DA Flaherty commends the thorough investigative work of the Buffalo Police Accident Investigation Unit, including Lt. Thomas Leatherbarrow and Officer Robert Delaney.

Kelley Omel, chief of acting DA Flaherty’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau is prosecuting the case. 

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
