Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Mohammed Ali Mused of Buffalo has been virtually arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-I” felony.

It is alleged that on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the defendant killed his wife, 42-year-old Muna Abdulrahman, at their home on Broadway in the City of Buffalo. Her cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.

Mused is scheduled to return on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. for further proceedings. He remains held without bail.

If convicted of the charge, he faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine M. Garvey of the DA’s Homicide Unit.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
