Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Sex Abuse Charge

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old John L. Williams, Jr. of Buffalo pleaded guilty today before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to one count of Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class “E” felony.

The defendant admitted that between December 31, 2019 and January 1, 2020, he attempted to subject a juvenile victim to sexual contact by forcible compulsion at a location in the City of Buffalo.  

Williams faces up to 4 years in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. He remains released on $15,000 bail.  

DA Flynn commends Detective Nicole Wrazen of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit for her work in the investigation.  

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rebecca L. Schnirel of the DA’s Special Victims Unit.
