Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 29-year-old Raquise Bryant of Buffalo has pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to Manslaughter in the First Degree, a week before jury selection in his murder trial was to begin. 

On September 24, 2016, about 10:30 p.m., in the vicinity of 1780 Genesee Street, Buffalo, the defendant fatally stabbed the victim, 29-year-old Raheem Malone of Buffalo, one time in the chest. 

Bryant faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced by Judge DiTullio on November 29, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Homicide Division, including Detectives Timothy Salamone and Terrance Supples, as well as NYSP Investigator Kevin Kendall. 

Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Smith of the DA’s Homicide Bureau prosecuted the case.
