Buffalo Man Sentenced for Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 20-year-old Demerius Bagby of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to 10 years of sex offender probation.

The defendant admitted that he attempted to engage in sexual conduct with a child who was less than 11-years-old at a location in the City of Buffalo on November 21, 2020.

Bagby pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class “D” felony) on December 21, 2020.

Justice Burns issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim.

DA Flynn commends Detective Molly Sanford of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit for her work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine M. Garvey of the Special Victims Bureau and Chief Stephen C. Earnhart of the Buffalo City Court Bureau.
