Buffalo Man Sentenced for Attempting to Sexually Abuse an Underage Girl

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 36-year-old Manuel Blanco Ortiz of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to 10 years of probation. The defendant is required to register as sex offender.

Between January 1, 2017 and April 30, 2017, the defendant attempted to subject a juvenile female to sexual contact.

Blanco Ortiz pleaded guilty to Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree in August 2018.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Mark Costantino of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Katharine S. Lavin of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
