Erie County District John J. Flynn announces that 23-year-old Daryl Bland of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to a determinate sentence of 15 years in prison plus 5 years post-release supervision.

On October 26, 2016 at about 12:50 a.m., the defendant fatally shot the victim, 31-year-old Dustin Sharp of Gowanda.

Bland pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree in March 2018.

DA Flynn commends the New York State Police and Seneca Nations Marshals for their thorough investigative work.

Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Smith of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Alicia M. Lilley of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau prosecuted the case.
