Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 46-year-old Luis Caballero of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to a prison term of 20 years to life.

On February 25, 2016, the defendant engaged in oral sexual conduct by forcible compulsion with an underage female victim in the City of Buffalo.

Caballero was found guilty of one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class “A-II” felony, and one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony, in January 2019. Justice Buscaglia found the defendant guilty of both counts of the indictment against him following a four-day bench trial.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work by Detective Joseph Ahmed of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad as well as the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners at Oishei Children’s Hospital.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Anthony M. Rossi and Bethany A. Solek of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
