Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 37-year-old Eric Everett, also known as Kamari Benz, of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to 20 years to life in prison.

Between June 9, 2016 and December 31, 2016, the defendant engaged in sexual conduct with a victim who was less than thirteen years old at a location in the City of Buffalo.

In June 2019, Judge Case found Everett guilty, as charged, of one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class “A-II” felony, following a three-day bench trial.

DA Flynn commends Detective Mark Costantino of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Katharine S. Lavin and Bethany A. Solek of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
